Why would a browser affect any of those things Even more confusing is why someone would think it would in three years time???
It's simple, the more information they get from us, the more they understand our browsing habbits and the more they can bring their advertising costs down. They save more money if they can get information across to us for free. If they can track what you're doing, they know what you'll be doing.
They can have lot more data then they can now. I am sure they would use some of them as well, good or bad.
It will make the people see the ads... Because most firefox users that swapped over used to use Adblock plus, and lost that in the transtition. So although it wont have many users to start, as it gains it should have some effect.
