Google Chrome Cache problem please help!!!

Hii im having a problem with chrome cache i work with lots of images and videos and since i have a comparitive low internet speed so i prefer big cache i prefer around 2-3gb so i used this chrome switch "...chrome.exe" --disk-cache-size=999999999999999999999. and it worked but recently after i formated my pc this switch doesnt seem to work properly. im using the same config but the cache wont go over 350mb i tried with chrome 5,6,8,10 and none of them works anymore please help i really need that fixed i even tried portable chrome since i have lappy so thought it would be good i can easily transfer the cache and work there but even the portable one doesnt work
im using windows 7 ultimate sp1 x64 and lappy win 7 home premium x86. i tried it on both but the cache wont budge over 350 i even tried the registry switch but none of them works anymore i donno what happened please help

 

not sure what seems to be the problem with chrome.. that's why i stick to firefox..

 

ya even i use that but chrome is light weight so use that for all these stuffs...
