Google on its official blog announced that the upcoming update of Google Chrome 11 includes two very interesting features: Text to Speech and hardware accelerated 3D CSS. Google has included HTML speech-to-input API, with this API developers can give web applications the ability to convert voice into text. To try out this feature click here. Google writes: When a web page uses this feature, you simply click on an icon and then speak into your computer’s microphone. The recorded audio is sent to speech servers for transcription, after which the text is typed out for you. Google has also integrated a new hardware accelerated CSS engine in the web browser.
Google Chrome 11 Beta is already available for download. This could have a big impact on how text and data work within browsers.
