Anyone here ever tried Google checkout? Anyone ever had any problems using it or getting them to pay? How quickly do they pay? Is it always two business days after the order so if they order on Sat you won't get paid until Wed? Thanks how good is it for digital products

They have very few stores that use their service. I have read reviews that state that Google Checkout can be a very lengthy process- sometimes up to a week before the payment even gets processed.

I would recommend an alternative such as Paypal or MoneyBookers.

Google has a lot of checks and balances to catch fraud. They verify the card and the money gets credited to your Checkout account right away... and the bank transfer starts automatically 2 business days later...taking another 2-3 days before it shows in your bank account. In my experience a transaction on a Monday may show in your bank account on Friday and transactions on other days will take 6-7 days (including the weekends) to hit your bank account. ie Tuesday to Monday, Saturday to Friday.

GCO transactions usually pass the fraud controls withing an hour or so and normally take about two days to get to the bank account. We haven't had any problem with them getting there in a timely manner.

its better because its SAFER. Paypal doesn't protect anybody apart from themselves, think im kidding check : http://paypalsucks.com/
Do you think somebody would waste their time making a whole site about it with a active community?
Google Checkout is way too slow to sign up, too many fraud checks and processes, but its better safe than sorry, Google Checkout is getting faster but still its relatively new to the market, but i recommend it over Paypal anyday.

Does anyone notice a difference in conversions? Fewer users means less familiarity and possibly even fewer sales? I haven't noticed all of the issues with PayPal; they've always been very fast and seem to have many fraud protections in place as well. PayPal in my opinion is very familiar and flexible. As PayPal is usually almost instant for me, I'm worried Google Checkout would slow things down and create an extended payment period instead of the instant processing I enjoy now... Would love to hear from others!
