Google Checkout or Paypal? What do you prefer?

Hi,

I am interested in using Google Checkout for wordstash.com, mainly because of the cheaper rates (I also trust Google more than PayPal...).

So if given the option, Google or PayPal?

I would do both if you can. The more options a user has (with reserve), the more likely they are to purchase from you. GCO has dramatically declined in use since they stopped giving out consumer coupons and dropped the free processing.

If I had to chose only one, I would go with paypal, and use the express or another more advanced checkout method.

 

I would go for Paypal, that would be my choice.

Please elaborate on the "sucking" part and why you would pick GCO.

 

Now it is Paypal. Because it has the widest network all over the world. Let Google checkout reach that stage, then only this question arises (which one you prefer ) . Now there is not much competition to paypal

 

paypal is likely an ewallet, and GC is a real merchant + gateway

if I'm in the USA, i will pick GC. The only dangerous part, is when something really bad happens, GC will refund all customers from your checking account, that suks.

 

I don't think they can refund directly from your checking account. I think they request account holders to put funds into their PayPal accounts to cover the amount they want to refund.

I would say as mentioned above, if possible, use both!

Currently paypal because checkout is not available internationally.

I would go for paypal since as of the moment the google checkout is not available in all areas. Basically paypal has covered more international areas.

 

Right, well by the sounds of it, both is beter untill GCO go larger.

Now just to persuade the developer to add it... That I imagine could be quite hard to incorporate
