Google Checkout - any experience?

    Hi,

    I recently came across a new Google service called "Google Checkout". It seems to be a PayPal competitor or even clone.


    Does anyone have any experience with this? I've never heard of it before.

    I've done thousands of dollars through them... They pay out 3 business days after the sale via direct deposit like clockwork.

    Been with them for around 6 months, no issues.

    its a pretty good merchant option. although, the order don't integrate with my shopping cart.

    Yes, Google checkout is pretty good mechant bt not available worlwide. Hence, I can not use it. As far as paypal is concern it will take years for Googe=le checkout to beat paypal for sure.

    No Google checkout is not available in india at the moment but they are planning to spread their network soon.

    Google checkout is FAR superior to paypal in every way. The future of online payment processing is google checkout, as more and more people have bad experiences with paypal

    What made you think like so? I mean though there are 80% peopel still prefer to use paypal. As far as Google checkout is concern, they are too far from paypal I must say. It will take years to beat paypal for sure.

    It has its advantages like free transaction processing if you are using google adwords.

    I remember in the first year when it launched,it was free transaction processing for all merchants.That was excellent and really helped my business but it still has a way to go before it can take on paypal.

    Make sure you verify your account when you set it up. Their anti-fraud is pretty good too.

    My only problem with them is customer service - much, much, much slower than Paypal to respond to issues - which isn't good if you are putting lots of orders through.

    with google checkout, just be aware of their chargeback policies as it relates to digital goods...

    Google checkout is cool and their charges are pretty much same as Paypal, but it is available only in US and UK.
