I started getting emails from customers yesterday saying they were unable to order, then tonight I logged into Google Checkout and there was a notice saying the account has been suspended! There was no reason given, no emails (I have emailed them about an hour ago but not had any reply yet). It's all very bizarre. I've been accepting Google Checkout without any problems for a year now. Seems very odd for them to suspend the account with no reason. Has anyone else had this happen? We are accepting PayPal in the meantime now.
Please try to contact them using your adwords account interface or try to chat with them using adwords specialist option.
They sent this email back: Hello James, Thank you for your email. It has come to our attention that your account ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx does not comply with our Terms and Conditions. As a result, your account has been suspended. Any pending and future transactions made with this account will not be processed. You will receive a final payout in the amount of £xxxxxxx in the next few business days. After Google Checkout initiates this payout, your bank may take up to three additional business days to register the funds in your bank account. Please contact your bank for more specific turn around times for electronically deposited funds. In the meantime, to avoid future complications, please fulfill any outstanding orders with your buyers and update your account with tracking information whenever possible. Kind regards, Sean The Google Checkout Team
There is always a reason - even if it is a stupid one! submit a support ticket and ask exatly what you were doing wrong - if possible call them.
I've asked them how specifically the account did not comply. As far as I know there isn't a telephone number for them in the UK.
This is the latest reply I got: Hello James, Thank you for your email regarding your account status. For security reasons, I am unable to provide details regarding this issue. I recommend utilizing an alternative payment method for future orders. I appreciate your understanding. Kind regards, Rocky The Google Checkout Team
maybe your products has to do something with there TOS... check there TOS and see what type of products they don't allow for sell... i have seen many users got there google checkout accounts suspended for this reason....
There is a reason they don't want you there I guess, there isn't much that you can do since they aren't telling you anything about it by email.
There was one customer who reported fraud on her card but it turned out she used a cash machine that had some kind of card reader attached to it. I wonder if that could be the reason because she reported it to the Police however Google were confident that it was nothing to do with them.
