How the HELL did they do this Ok this is my question, if you search google for eyeglasses, http://eyeglasses.00freehost.com comes up in the top10. They have a PR of 5 but yet has 0 backlinks in google. I checked yahoo and the only back link that that had a pr was a pr6 site (http://www.netvalley.com/top100mag.html). Even the linking is that site is fishy. seems like they attach their link to old articles (probally hacked the perl script) if anyone could give me some insite on how they got to the top10. Looking at that link it seems like they did some link spamming in that article (content don't fit).
No, the're not! (in my opinion) Google has changed their method of updating PR this time around. In the past, they used to updated internal PR first and then update the toolbar. But, the recent toolbar update is actually showing changes that still haven't been implemented internally (Although we are not that far off, 10 days maybe). So, although the toolbar is showing a PR5 .... internally they might have a lower PR. Secondly, the link: command on Google hasn't been showing real results for months now. Try searching for "link:eyeglasses.00freehost.com" on http://www.alltheweb.com and you will see some of the links that AllTheWeb has cached. If you look at the top ones, you will see PR6 links. So, it is perfectly fine for this site to have a PR5. Finally, "eyeglasses" is not a competitive keyphrase as it only gives 1.7 million results in Google so it's not too tough for a PR5 or even lower PR site to be in the top 10.
actually, i did not check to see how competitive the search term was, but.... i would assume it is not very competitive... not because of the total results.... if you look at the site it is a tad bit spammy....look at the bottom links on noncompetitive terms a spammy page can reach the top ten very easy.... Not: the amount of results does not indicate a competitive term... i target terms that have 1 or 2 million results that are very tuff. when i first started a few years ago i targeted a term that has over five million results i hit the top three within a month and have been there every since....terns out it only gets a few searches a month...
ok so you don't think they spam their link on that pr6 site? their link is hidden in some old archive text, this site had been in the top10 for about 1-2 months now and still no backlinks. also look at this page http://www.netvalley.com/top100mag.html, do a text search for eyeglasses, if you notice the word eyeglasses is also a link back to this site, but the link is hidden ( no underline same color as the rest of the text), which lead me to believe they might have hacked the perl script on that site to add their links. The website is very spammy, that why I'm wondering how the hell they got to the top10 and remain there. As for my site i'm #6-8 on a weekly basis ( http://www.eyeglassesinternational.com but I was just wondering how they got their so quick
ok so now you see how they included their link with raising any attention, I think they are hijacking this site because they have a bunch of other hidden style link on other part of the site
