    Google changes SERP every day. But if your site drop so dramatically, you may need to have a check on your site. Have you linked to bad neighbors or doing anything that is not allowed?

    You are right. But these updates are not happening on authority sites.. It's only for the newer ones that are1-2 years old.

    this is no reason to very about your site. weat at lest 10 days may you got your ranking back again. this is happen some time when you modify your site page.

    I experience the same problem with one of my pages that went from page 1 to 2.
    It drops amount of visits by 1000-2000. So, I really get frustrated.

    Even if your SEO is squeaky clean white, Google is constantly messing with their algorithm and rankings fluctuate. However, a drop that big usually means something is going on with your site, or Google found something (or many things) they really didn't like. In other words, if your rankings don't return soon, you've probably been penalized for something.
