Google CEO Supports Obama

"Barrack Obama's political campaign is bound to get some more weightage as Google's CEO Eric Schmidt announced that he will soon be campaigning for him. The campaigning looks more of a corporate move but Schmidt admits that this is his personal decision and has nothing to do with Google or its benefit."

Oh wow that's pretty big news. Kinda suprising considering big businesses like that have the most to lose (tax hikes) with a free spending socialite like Obama.

Tells you a little about the character of Eric Schmidt. Anyone that is willing to part with their money for the benefit of others is very noble. Obama is not a free-spender; he'll cut nonsense spending and increase spending on things that matter to people.

If you enjoyed the last 8 years under the Bush admin, then go ahead and vote for McCain because 90% of his policies are the same as Bush. Nothing will change with McCain, and the money will go towards the pockets of the crooked corporations and CEOs.

Yep I agree, I don't know why many people are saying Obama is a socialist. Isn't it George Bush (republican) who just socialized our banks and now is talking about giving another stimulus check out. Obama just wants fiscal responsibility where we make sure our middle class is strong which will actually make me other businesses stronger especially retail and even internet. McCain and especially Palin just scare me because of their lack of knowledge about so many issues and there ideas that Bush's 8 years were good for people and we need another 4 with even stranger policies.

whos only goal is to roll around the sheets with CEOs and corporate criminals hell bent on monopolizing everything they can get there
    greedy hands on.

ahhhh now i feel good that i could get that off my chest :D

Seems like "socialist" is a new keyword for the McCain campaign which has very little to say. It's not socialist per see and too many McCain supporter doesn't have a real understand of what a socialist country is. Go read some more ... don't be like Bush & Palin.

On another note, we have to raise taxes somewhere, we as a country bankrupt. We need to pay off some debt or the entire country will belong to China and Mexico in another 8 years of BushCain. (Go look up how much we own China, Mexico and many others "socialist/communist" country).

It is funny that we're not too loud about those countries when we own them shitload of money ... Just blame the black guy.

Well i dont care for any politician but i must say that when "billy boy" (clinton) was president money flowed like water cascading down a hillside and bills got paid on time everytime.... sure he wasnt perfect (he didnt inhale and still managed to get his cigar wet  ) but hey the economy wasnt like this and war wasnt even a thought.

Personally i just want change for the better....

This is one of the bad pecedents that is going to be set by Eric if he is going to campaign for Obama..

They may give donation to political candidates but they should not be actively supporting them..

In a democracy there should be no nexus between politicians and corporates, but nowdays it's being accepted openly as an alliance...

Eric Schmidt is an individual just like anybody else. He has the right to publicly state who he supports just like anybody else. Also, he made it very open and clear that it is him, not Google, who supports Obama.

Exactly. Everyone thinks because someone is filthy rich they need to be a republican. It doesn't take a genius to see where our country is right now and that we need change. I believe that is why so many republicans and wealthy people are turning their heads on the party. They have seen these two debate time and time again. After all that they honestly believe Obama is the better man for the job.

I have to agree that here in the states "you" pick whom ever you want and its not about any company but rather "the individual" whom makes the decision. ;)

    thx

Good question. According to the article some of the other big net companies have gone with McCain
"Mr. Schmidt is the latest tech leader to take a more formal role in this year's presidential race. Several such executives advise Republican Sen. John McCain, including former eBay Inc. Chief Executive Meg Whitman, Cisco Systems Inc. Chairman and CEO John Chambers and ousted Hewlett-Packard Co. CEO Carly Fiorina"

His opnion is personal, but anyway...anyone who runs a large company as Google must think twice before he make his opinion public.
