What I am seeing is that older sites that got hit by The Big Daddy Update for no apparent reason are finally starting to return.
In the current version of Google I've noticed some really big changes too. Older content seems to be ranking at the top of the results. I thought that this was strange since Google seemed to be moving towards more "real time" search and fresh content results. But the biggest thing that I have noticed is really irrelevant results appearing at the top of results. I type in a search term and don't get the results that I am searching for. This isn't just bad for SEO people, but for regular searchers too. I have to search through pages and pages to get what I am looking for, or search using speech marks. This is a really bad change on Google's part, one that is making me look for another search engine completely. Its really annoying not being able to find what I am looking for online. It looks as thouhgt this problem isn't as bad with the caffeine version, so I hope they will switch to this, or put things back the way they were
I've noticed this too. Absolute TRASH appearing in the top 10 results for some very competitive keywords. According to the Caffeine update, these trash results are going to go away so hold tight... things will get better!
I bet with the Tweeks we are seeing in the last 2 hours we may see a big ahkeup by Monday morning..I hope they roll this and get it over with I would be grateful for the new changes in the serps it hasbeen a long time coming. On a side note I believe there is definatleyl something happening at the plex today. MC usually posts on Twitter close to a doxen times a day. Today has been very silent so he must be very occupied. Just an assumption on my part but who knows.
I have a sport website. I built some backlinks with a term that is only used in some directory submissions titles. The term is NOT included anywhere in the website, meta, no where on the site The website still ranks top for that phrase/title submission. Its not a well searched phrase but its important to note that it still ranks on caffeine.
So yesterday there was a very short period where the caffeine Aglo update was put into live search. Some noticed it others didn't. Has nayone noticed a change in ranking since then. Some UK sites are reporting a fairly substantial shift as of this morning. I myself am seeing nothing here in the states. I am curious for some reports from different areas as these tweaks happen.
YES, exactly My 2 websites was stuck on rank 7 for two of health and fitness niches (competition{Results 1 - 10 of about 107,000,000}) In the caffeine update search, it is showing a whopping 3rd rank and also the competing websites have gone down to 23,600,000-so that is some clean up My take on this whole issue What i could observe from the SERPs on my niche is that, there were huge authority sites with few pages on the niche and used to rank well-like at No.1 and No.2, but now they seems to have been wiped out, the reason being the new update seems to concentrate on content So, does this mean ezinearticles, hubs and lenses can no longer rank well, do this mean google is going behind affiliates big time, wiping out those one page niche rankers
Confirmed that caffeine has NOT rolled out by Matt Cutts. However following many TOP SEO's it does appear that it may be soon. Matt could not make it tom some events this weekend because of "crunch time" at the job. This could be a sign of a busy weekend and some changes coming in the next few days. Let's see what happens.
Caffeine is not yet implemented.. source(http://www.golaniajay.com) . And why we are worrying about it as Google has clearly mentioned that it will not reflect much changes..
Caffeine is not implemented yet the experts clear that. and you will not see major changes in results if implemented.
To be clear on your blog posted above.A post was made that Matt Cutts said "No Caffeine has not been iplemeted" however this was from an apparent private email from matt Cutts to another person. Nowhere has it M<C posted that the infaxtructrure is not live. Many believe it is and the Algo update is following sometime soon. The infastructure has nothing to do with serps just indexing speed etc..So my take is that what everyone is waiting for is the Caffeine algo update which apparently is being tested considering this past week there has been alot of fluxing going on.
seo "expert" is a title that should be bestowed on someone by others, not themselves IMO, and nobody knows exactly what to expect from caffeine. at the moment some results are the same, some similar, and some radically different. depends on terms and whether there are filters yet to be reactivated on it
I am observing a lot of ups and downs since two weeks for some of my pages in google.com (from first page to 3rd) Different results on caffeinate could be observed today for one of my high competition KWs. google.com - without quotes 52,600,000 ranking # 34 (yesterday it was # 8) with quotes 157,000 ranking # 15 (didn't search with quotes yesterday) www2.sandbox.google.com - without quotes 7,140,000 ranking # 8 with quotes 166,000 ranking # 7 Another search for 3,400,000 caffeinate # 6 g.com 2,980,000 # 22
There is a System Maintenance for Google Sandbox at the moment. There will be new improvements to the Google algo. Hope it will be more good improvements. Or maybe a rollout to the other datacenters
Seems to be some more wierd things happening with indexed pages. More info at http://www.webmasterworld.com/google/3982457.htm
