Looks like the caffeine DCD is back up with some signifigant changes. I am seeing some local results now added to a broad term. http://www2.sandbox.google.com/
All over twitter " Google will announce tomorrow that search results will b in AJAX 4 real time results & ranking software killer. " This may be caffeine. I guess we will know tommorrow if allof this is true. It was supposably overheard at SMX East.
This is not a theory but a good analysis. Since Google will crawl more pages and more content deeper it can pick up more relevant content. Those lower PR sites will now have the chance to be included in SERP. More activities like this will cost change in SERP ranking of keywords.
I am also noticing for the last 24-48 hours a huge jump in Google crawing on my site. I am talking 10 times more then normal. I have also noticed that the # of pages indexed in webmaster tools is alot more then using site:www.mysite.com . It is usually the other way around. There is something strange in the neighborhood. Who ya gonna call?
I'm glad you're seeing this to, because we noticed a HUGE drop in indexed pages using the site: operator, but Webmaster Tools is still shows normal numbers.. And frankly, I trust Webmaster Tools more than the site command.
That is exactly what I am saying. The site operator is pulling up much less then webmaster tols. It is usually the other way around. Usually the site operator is the freshest results.
Post from another forum "Google just rolled out a completely new dataset across all DCs in about 4-5 hours! People in the west are going to wake up and wonder what happened. It's was nearly seamless, with the 3 datasets cangoou pointed out, being weaved into each other like a basketball drill. That was the Caffeine infrastructure in effect and it was quick and painless. I suspect there will be some more movement as I still see some "ghost datasets" not incorporated but when they do weave those in, it will happen quick! Go to sleep or out to lunch and one will miss it completely." I am seeing this as well. If you look at the caffeine DC the # of results are very close to the main results. It also looks very simialar. Looks like after the on again off again rollout of caffeine this one is sticking. For those who are waiting for the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT from Google if it happens at all it will probably be soon. But I wouldn't hold my breath.
We're close to something big, really big let's see if I'll earn more or less money with Google Caffeine... Google Brazil still the same as always...same backlinks, same SERPs and these things... Probably the update wil be done first in US, UK, CA...and then the other countries...
I know the feeling it happened to me in 2006 with Big Daddy. I would suggest getting some quality links and really concentrating on title tags and content.
I have feel this kind of updation at my website -----------there are a lot of ranking fluctuation. Day and night ranking different for my website.....
In a past 1 month of October, traffics is good coming from search engine. Unfortunately we can not determine if it is really the effect of Google caffeine or our regular link building
Very interesting topic, the theory mentioned here makes perfect sense and it helps newer sites to appear high in the SERPs as well if they provide genuine accurate information to what the user searches for.
