I totally agreed with Hasen, because it was working to the point that I was investing money back, but now is like they've pulled the plug. Anything we can do ?
Caffeine does "like" spam sites, with a lot of keyword stuffing. I have seen old sites rising to first page, just because they have the keywords in the domain and have extra long pages full of keywords. I guess this is Google's answer to backlink bombing and profile links...
They needed to get the first few pages updated, so I don't agree it wasn't broke. I got in the habit of using options and picking a search period the past few months, but I bet a lot of people didn't even know it was an option. That is the #1 complaint of people like my parents when they use Google - stuff was too old that came up. At the same time, twitter results are probably just going to chase those same people who were already frustrated, away.
Google Caffeine, the project name for the newest reincarnation of the search engine, is launching imminently.
I don't intend to sound rude, but G does not care about your message in the least. They know all too well that with every update some people love the change and others hate it. Their conclusion is that those whose sites gained position love it and those whose sites lost position hate it. So your message falls on deaf ears. /*tom*/
All i have to say that i am very disapointed in the way the simple google results are being shown , 80% of the page is filled with twitter, adwords, adsense, local results and very llittle search. ( that too now a days invalid search ) cheers Josh
My rankings are as good if not better on Caffeine, that's not the issue at all. The issue is Google is returning total bs results for top keywords and at high positions. If you think that's gonna fall on deaf ears across the world then you're sorely mistaken. The whole reason Google shot to fame in the first place above all the other highly popular search engines at the time is because it returned much more relevant results. The day they lose that and another search engine is better is the day they start to lose their market share.
I gotta agree that the update is very crappy. Google has a bad habit of doing things for no reason. I guess that what happens when you get big. It used to be about results, now it's about whatever will make the most money. Oh well....
oh well ? i hope not , the message is to create a better system where the webmaster knows his actual rank based on the access logs the server gives, i've ran google statistics in comparison to what is on the server and it doesn't allways match. im an adword/adsense user and love the interface but i am not sure anymore if anything is worth. i think local connection for advertising is the best way to go, since you know in person who you're advertising for. so can they beat that? if so there is alot of programming to do.
haha, it's so funny! Maybe Google wants you to return to business school to study bad credit car loans!!
Not sure if I agree with your statement that Google Caffeine results are crap. I think Google States it very clearly that it's displaying all the non-penalized search results. Give it some time and All the sites that are trying blackhat SEO search techniques will be filtered out.
Does anyone have any examples of websites they own with Google referral traffic that has gone up or down dramatically since the new year? I've noticed that my own sites and my clients sites have remained pretty much the same. That being said, its only about 6 sites total. I'd like to know if any specific examples of sites you know that have experienced a big up tick or downturn in referral traffic recently.
i think Google is just trying to get read of those who use black hat methods. I think it is stupid to do Auto link submission they never get approved. I always do manual may take longer but worth it in the long runn. Like it or not Google is still the biggest and as far as i'm concerned best around.
there's a statement i think just about everyone can agree one. although bing has made great strides in recent months.
One of the horrible updates ever. One day results go high up in the SERPs and the next day they are lower than what they usually are.
ha! @Library of london business school number 5 for "bad credit card loans" that makes me laugh- they need a little more work on the caffeine
