I've noticed already that more and more local searches are making there way to the top of my searches. I guess this means that Google DeCaf is already taking effect.
I agree. If you site loads way way to slow there is going to be a price to pay. Sounds like they are really trying to speed up results and this is the way they will do it.
What speed are we talking about?? I think when it comes to speed.... E commerce sites that are large and tons of products and have to use a lot of scripting there hands are tied..
I wouldn't think too much about this. After all, Google works for us. We should just focus on making our content as useful as possible and leave the rest to the search engines.
I like the sound of it. I've coded all my pages in HTML and javascript and load speeds are very very fast, so I am pleased to hear about this perhaps being a factor. Wordpress will lose out massively as that blogging platform can be dreadful for load speed times, having used it myself previously
That's not true If you have super cache installed load speed will be similar to static HTML pages. I know that for a fact. Venetsian.
I don't know that new sites will be as effected as people may fear. One example is the frowning upon practice of link trades and link exchanges. This is a way to devalue the practice of paying for high PR backlinks. Many times these directory sites have little value to the user and for them to show up high in search defeats Googles purpose of providing high quality relevant content. Many times the high ranking sites are paying for their positions with massive backlink campaigns linking to high PR sites with poor content that does not fit their website. If those types of sites start to fail there will still be a place for new sites that are playing by the rules in the eyes of the new Google.
Agree with quotation. Additionally personalization and new way for local SERP - all that affect the SERP very much, and mostly it appeared recently (few months). As for how happy users will be... let's see in a while...
