I checked my logs and Google crawled some of my pages last night but I noticed that the pages have old dates on them as the cached date by "site:URL". Can someone shed some light on how this works?
yea, because G doesn't make cached copies of sites all the time It happens when the G want to do it. In practice most of time copies aren't actuall
Great thanks! BTW, are there telltale signs of when google moves towards releasing your website from the sandbox? Or does this seem to happen in a flash?
There is really no way to tell. Your site may be filtered for other reasons also, it is really hard to tell. good luck...
Right now's not a good time to tell. there is something going on with the cache system. today alone i have seen one of my sites witha cache from jul 18 and one from jan 21. all since this morning. not used to seeing such drastic changes, usually its less spastic.
In my opinion, I just fxed the bad links on my page (about two). And, I negotiated a backlink to my sitemap where the page was a PR 4. Boom, site is out of the sandbox immediately. That day translates to 30 days after site was initially placed "online." Last year there was a general theory that sites would remain an average of 6 months in the sandbox. Very sketchy theory though as some of these people would say but at the same time claim that some sites came out of the sandbox as fast as 2 months. So I don't really know until I do some more sites.
