    Hi,

The site in my link used to be cached by G once a day last year. Since '05 my PR increased to 3 and now it has not been cached since 28th Dec.

Is there a way to make G cache your site when you want?

I have been building IBLs like crazy lately, adding new content, but no change

I want some advices if any

    Thanks

Maybe your server is configured wrong and isn't updateing your last modified headers.

I doubt there is something wrong with my site/server. My guess is it's just a glitch in Google

That type of glitch is common.

I can tell you one of my observation; About 3 months ago I started to optimize a company website which has not been optimized since it's online 2001. SEs were hardly showing a couple pages of that site and the site was not showing at SERPS what so ever.
I updated all site and add new pages and everyday I updated these pages, especially index page. guess what; Gbot visits everyday and does "Deep crawl" for whole site. I can't get rid of it!, it is taking all my bandwith everyday! lol ;) even I stoped updating. Well IMO Gbot visits are depending how regularly you update your site...

I can agree with that. If you have a PR6 home page or higher, then the bot will normally visit daily, even if you only update once every two weeks or so.

Otherwise the only way to call it back sooner, rather than later is to make frequent daily updates. It does have some affect IMO also.

    now it's even better...
I still have PR3, but my cache is back from 30th Nov 2003 (when the site was not mine)....

and all the other pages are gone from index....

    This is some weird thing...

After G has cached my site more than 100 times the last year... it goes back to Nov 2003...

    Any similar experiences?

At least a dozen fellow DPers could have posted that identical reply for you... It's a bog standard one, almost an auto-reply.

Greetings everyone, new on board here.

I have recently done a site for a client. Have been updating the site pretty frequently for the past few weeks. But it seems to me Google still havent indexed the site properly. The only way for it to come up in search results was to type in the whole website name. Aside from frequent updates, is there any other trick to get the site indexed? Or is a month just way too soon? My client refuses to pay me because he cannot google his site... :(

Have you looked at other search engines besides Google? I think Google only indexes bi-monthly, or monthly, ie, updates their index anyway... Others do it with greater frequency. Anyway, what is the site?

Any chance you can get a link, at least temporarily, from a PR>5 page, maybe it'll fix it.
If it doesn't, the problem might be within your site/page/domain/server

Thanks so much for the replies.

    The web site is : http://www.v a c a t i o n i n k a u a i.net.

Yes I understand getting incoming links will help, but thats kinda hard to accomplish, since when i used my keywords to search only competitor sites came up in the top 5.... My keywords are "kauai vacation rental".

And yes I have tried other search engines. In fact I just tried again in yahoo/msn..., they are showing up better now than the last time i tried. So i guess my only concern now is google, which is what my client specifically wants the website to be shown.

You pros out there please check my site and see if anything I can improve to make it more se friendly... Thanks again!!

I guess what I meant was G is not doing any deep crawling into the site. Seems like the other existing pages are not in its index. The Title and Description both do not show, and yes, doing a keyword search will not find the site. It is just frustrating... Did I miss something? For now I just want the site to come up in search results, will try and improve the page rank later.

    Use VB's own code.

And for your site, one month is short notice for good rankings. Especially with the Sand Box out there.

Get more links and wait. Also make sure your client understands you can't influence G's indexing so he better cough up the money.
