Google cache of homepage over 2 months old

Hi Guys

I have recently launched www.eastrenfrewshireonline.com (about 3 weeks ago). Before the site launched there was a holding page which is still being displayed in Googles cache of the site.

I have submitted a sitemap, and verified the site in webmaster tools. The log files show that google is indexing the sitemap but not any other pages. However in webmaster tools there are results under top search queries.

Can anyone give me some advice on getting Google to re-cache the new homepage of the site and also why would it only be indexing the sitemap?

Hmmm Are you SURE your DNS is set up correctly? I can't get to your site with http://eastrenfrewshireonline.com/ or http://www.eastrenfrewshireonline.com/ when trying to browse to it. And when I ping it I get "Ping request could not find host www.eastrenfrewshireonline.com. Please check the name and try again."

Hi Loco - Thanks for the response. I thought that this may be the case but I wanted to double check, I don't want to be sitting in the same position in 6 months time!

 

Try to use the ping service, similarly like blogs

 

Ping it, and build some links.

 

Can you point me towards some tutorials about the ping service for non blog sites?

 

Get more links. Make a new Sitemap, and that should do it !
