I made some changes to a site (used to have same title + META for every single page) on the 4th and am closely monitoring the site:results. Yesterday I finally found Google had updated the cache and included the changes I had made. The cache date was indeed the 4th. I just looked again and they now say they are showing me a page cached on the 2nd (pre-changes) but they are actually showing the changes! So they're showing a post 4th of Jan page snapshot but date it to be the 2nd of January. I don't normally follow this in that great detail so my question is, is that 'normal', such anomalies? Do they do the same thing for your pages too?
I see this flactuate often. I think that this depends on which datacenter you hit on. Some have updated index and some are outdated. But in your case, changes have been made and the cache dated is 2nd. This is strange. I never get to the details of my cache pages. Im just happy if the cache date is recent.
