Google cache date does not change but meta tag updated ?

Hi everyone,
I have updated my Meta tag on 7th June 2010 for my website. When I go to search in Google like site:URL I am seeing updated Meta tag for home page. But Google cache date is 2nd June 2010. How is it possible without indexing?

Actually, I have found in the past that cache data is unreliable... most likely your site was crawled and "cache" data doesnt reflect this.

 

i think cache date is not updated by google.

 

I have the same problem with my site title. I think it updates it every month or 15 days! But not more than a month!

 

Same issue is at my sites. I think that cache and serp updates are different process
