Thanks for the link.. First bit of information I have read on the subject. Interesting how they walked away from the deal at that stage of the talks. I wonder if they will come back with a revised offer. I don't think they want Digg for profit reasons (though they will try to turn it around if they do acquire it) I would imagine that they want it to stop anyone else getting it and using it to boost there own advertising ventures.. Maybe while they were looking at the books, they decided that Digg is not the type of venture that any of Google's competition would take on, so they feel comfortable enough to walk away for now while they work out a new plan of attack. As long as they haven't misjudged there competition they may save themselves a bit of money.. If they have misjudged the competition.. Cheers James
