About 4 weeks ago some of you active members in this section may remember me posting that I was having trouble getting Google to index my site.... Googlebot had hot come back since July at that time. Well, I did some heavy SEO and created a time released content delivery system for my wallpapers and Google has been coming back 3-2 times a week. The index is starting to pick up all of the pages that have been absent since July and im getting traffic for over 400 keywords a day compared to the regular 100 or so. Should I be worried about GoogleBot thinking something is up? Because my page count has jumped from about 120 (July) to about 550 (Now). All the content is self created and all pages are original but there was a gap in indexing so im starting to grow really fast and Id like to keep the kick ass traffic increase so im thinking of letting more content through every day. Should I sit tight or just go for it? Interested to see what you guys think, Thanks.
Your problem is nothing, when the GoogleBot visits my site it uses about 1GB of bandwidth each time to crawl it. I saw my bw stats and freaked out when I saw it wasn't users that it was the GB!
Release a few. How many are you releasing right now? Some of my sites start out with 10-25k+ pages. That's right. They START with that many. And google is fine with it. Eh maybe not fine. But I get around the issues. So I have a feeling adding your amount of pages is not a problem at all.
Learn to read before flaming retard. I said I was getting traffic from over 400 different search terms (keywords.) I get about 10,000 uniques per day. Where do you see anything about me saying I get only 500 "pageviews" a day?
Cool, thanks for the info. I have about 50 pages in my cue so ill turn it up a notch and pump out as much content as I can consistently.
I have a very large site as well, had 20k+ when i startned SEO and I found it helped to seperate the sitemaps, may just have beena coincidental things but I ended submitting 3 sitemaps, one for my /forum, one for my normal pages and one for my dynamic /news pages. After that my indexed pages jumped from 3K to 8-9K and is rising steadily.
So Google indexed more of your pages for more keywords and you're getting more traffic. What's the problem? I think it's ok to add more content.
He was afraid that by adding rapid amounts of pages, Google would stomp on his fragile rankings carcass. It's a valid fear.
Its condensending to think adding more pages would hurt your rankings when content is the king of search engines.
Yes but I have also heard horror stories of people suddenly having higher page counts and Google ends up either sandboxing them or removing them totally.
I do not see you having any problem if everything in your first post is true. Normally the sites that get penalized for rapid increases are those who create pages and pages of copied information just to get their sites noticed. If you have original information and pages, Google will favor you in the rankings. You are doing exactly what they want.
Exactly what allout said, one site i have started with 50k pages and now has 750k in a few months and Google loves it. Although with an increase in pages its good to compliment it with an increase in backlinks. Looks natural and helps to float the whole domain.
And all those pages are in the main index, not in the supplemental index? Wow. You must be getting hell of the traffic
