As imposing as Google's new Oregon data center is, when it opens it will only a piece of a worldwide computing system known as the Googleplex, which is tied together by strands of fiber optic cables. A similar computing center has recently been completed in Atlanta.

The question then comes to mind...

Will Google ever become bigger then Microsoft?

Well the topic was discussing data center size and infrastructure...in which Google is spanking Microsofts rear end. Google is doing well total profit margin wise based on the fact that they aren't selling hundreds of thousands of copies of an operating system, and most of their services are free ;).

    I apologize.

    Very interesting.

Google is secretly developing what is thought to be one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers in its most ambitious attempt to outstrip rivals Yahoo and Microsoft.

The internet firm is building a vast complex the size of two football pitches with cooling towers four floors high on a remote stretch of barren land in Oregon.

    Rest of story here...

Google already has their competitors beat. They're just trying to make sure they stay on top

I'm a little suprised that more hasn't been made of this, either by Google or communities like ours.
