    Adsense existed as a name long before Google came and adopted it.

    Old story. Well I dont remember if they paid any money but the Adsense Sensible Business Services company has this website address now: www.adsense2.com

    yeah google would have had adsense as their registered trademark, so the guy probably had no choice but to hand it over or be sued!

    The domain was first regged on 1997-02-24 and Google was created on September 7, 1998. And Adsense was created later.
