i dont know if its got something to do with new year but all of a sudden some 15 odd guests and 5-6 bots including Google Bot were on my site (phpbb forum) and the other second they all vanished along with guests ? something fishy ?
I do not think so. If your forum is new sometime you would get a lot of visits by bots to include contents as most as they can. Then they might visit you periodically.
