I heard that Google does that i.e crawls left top to right. Is that harmful if you have your links to the left?? Any ideas ???
The way bots crawl depends on how your HTML codes were displayed. For example, I can have my header div codes appearing under my content div by using positioning. This way, the bots will index the content first before reaching the header portion. Many webmaster believes that the bots focus on the content near the top of every pages. That's why Content-First CSS templates came about..
Yes its right - its not harmful to have ur site links on the left PROVIDED that they ar not the first things that a bot crawls. TIP - leave a blank column of table first, in the second colum enter your keywords. in the next row add the navigation menu - this way ur keywords hets read first and...ur navigation links are there where its supposed to be!! P.S - its always good to leave ur signature to be read as well as a keyword. ie. instead of copyrights reserved.www.watever.com as a sig u can make ur keyword at that placelike coyrights reserved - watever.com search engine optimization specialists(or ur keyword)
I usually run a lynx browser to look at it the bot way. I believe this is how bots crawl from link to link based on lynx output.
