    JessieJames27,
Nystul provided a good resource, as wikipedia is an awesome resource for innumerable definitions.

As I am sure you know, basically a google bomb is when a multitude of links pointing to a targeted site produce the desired effect, whether intentional or otherwise.

IMO, it was first used for seo itself, when seo firms would have 50 computers in 50 datacenters with 100 C blocks and would strategically interlink the domains and dominate the search results for 3-word phrases for their clients (I have had personal experience working with a firm in 2000 that did this).

However, nowadays it is more likely implemented to poke fun at somebody, making the targeted site come up for something IRONIC or in complete contrast, or something outrageously funny. Today this can be achieved by the traditional internet marketer, who has a list of 100,000 active subscribers, and he/she asks them to link to a particular domain with a particular phrase, and not to only use their own domains under their control, but to web2.0 it by utilizing myspace, stumbleupon, and other social network sites.

I dont personally advocate the process.

Yet others google bomb for themselves, like brad fallon does to identify himself. But the butterfly marketing guy displaced and thwarted his results for some time. They basically do such things for ego, and there is no humor to the process/goal.
