Google BL update

    Sorry if this is a dumb question!

    How many often does G update BL? all other engines show a 10 fold increase but G is stuck.
    How many often does G update PR? I understood that the next one is for en of March.

    Google has been updating pagerank about once a quarter. It has been updating backlinks every month to six weeks but February has been very strange so I would make no bets.

    my impression is that we should have one in the next week, but things have been very wacky so I wouldn't swear to it.

    what do you mean by that? My backlinks went up about 50% at the last update and I still show all of them. Am I missing something?

    The intervals between the recent past pagerank updates has been very strange. I would say PR is for entertainment purposes only. What drives the serps is content & links.

    For the URLs I monitor, the last obvious BL changes were in early Feb. I haven't seen any recent substantial changes from the _primary_ datacenters.

    I'm noticing those same six DCs that have been weird since this latest update started are now showing 0 BLs for me. I'm not sure what to make of that, and I'm about ready to just start ingnoring them.

    Google shows that I have 39 (thirty-nine) backlinks. MSN says approx 3000.

    That is what I call a difference....

    My sites have gone mad this month - some are nowhere and some went to the top. That Link Popularity tool (arelis i think) shows a 300% increase in my total links. I used the online tool that predicts future pagerank http://www.rustybrick.com/pagerank-prediction.php but it must be a joke as it reports most of my sites jumping to 9 or 10

    All a bit wierd

    Yeh Iam seeing the same as Donna. Some dc's providing old BL's.

    The good news for me (I hope) is that my rankings are back to what they used to be prior to 17 December update. I'm not getting too excited, but I am seeing great rankings, one No. 7 out of over 30mil results for KW travel community.

    This makes me think that they was definatly a sandbox / filter put on to my domain on the 17 December, this for the time being appears to have been switched off.

    I'm seeing it as well. One of my main keywords is "Creative Electronics" and I'm floating back in top 10 on some of the dc's.
