Google Bitch Slapping for PayPerPosts

Google are starting to piss me off now lol. They just go around expect everyone to dance to their tune and bitch slap anyone that dares to differ. I wasn't actually aware Google were bitch slapping people's PR for doing PayPerPosts until it happened to me.

Infact, most aren't, until it happens to them. Because Google never tell anyone, they're so vague and secretive with their rules. They put up basic guidlelines but then leave questions unanswered, how do you expect webmasters to follow rules you don't put out Google?

I recently wrote a post about Google bitch slapping me if you wanna check it out.

Starting to annoy me now lol. They can have sponsored links in their search results, that's fine... but anyone else dares to make a penny on their own back on out comes the big G hand to slap them with a full force of bitchyness.

Their guidelines are very clear and when you try and game their search results then yes you'll be bitch slapped.

Google and Matt Cutts have given plenty of warnings in regards to buying links.

    I agree.

If your going to take your chances with black hat SEO or buying links, then don't be surprised if you get hammered when you finally get caught.

I guess there is nothing wrong in payperpost if it is done decently and ethically.

Black hat? PayPerPost is like ReviewMe, I don't buy links and never have. I DID a PayPerPost myself as in wrote one. I have tons of quality PR 2 - PR 6 backlinks. Google are just stubborn and bitch slap anyone that dares try to make money if it's not via Adsense.

Google tries to keep search results relevant, best websites to appear the first. How can they know which websites are good or not? If people are talking about them, and recommend to others, means that a website is good. Backlinks are like votes. If a blogger post a website review, post it because he like it, because the website is good, he gave his vote.

But, what is happening when you buy reviews on other blogs ? you buy votes. Low quality websites will rank higher even they don't have quality, and webmasters will spend all money for links and not for improving the website.

It is not such a bad really thing to do reviews for money, probably the one who buys want to promote his website, but lowering PR is the first step, assuring that you are not selling reviews for PR and SERPS, but for traffic and publicity. Second step will be penalizing or banning the website who buys.

It would be worse if they penalize or ban the selling website, but lowering PR don't mean that your traffic will drop. If you don't sell posts for PR and SERPS why are you upset ?

    Therein lies the problem.

This has been discussed at great length in every SEO forum out there for at least six months, probably more.

If you are going to sell reviews, you need to use rel="nofollow" in the link or risk losing PR (if PR matters to you). G wants PR to flow only when the link is "natural". Paid links skew their results and since PR is their game they have the right to take it away.

I don't normally defend G, but in this case they really do get to set the rules.

Companies that serve as brokers for payperpost will lose business. They have to adjust their criteria and guidelines. Most of these agencies require a high PR of your blog before you can participate in their programs. What to do now?

Google likes it when you create and market your site for people.

If you try to screw Google then don't be surprised if they return the favor.

    1. I don't dislike Google, I love Google - their work ethic and perfection ethic is awesome. I am also an entrepreneur so I obviously admire their marketing. Which is why this is all the more annoying.

    2. I get about 2% of my traffic from Google so you could take it all away and I wouldn't notice.

Try not to depend by google income. Test other alternatives to have a backup in case google decide not to like you anymore.

I don't depend on Google for anything...

    Hence:
I like Google but knowing how frequently they chage rules and penalise people I would never depend on them plus I've just never found them a great source of traffic.

I don't even care about pagerank lol, don't know why I'm even ranting about it in a post. Just find it a bit annoying getting slapped for something so petty.

What is the URL of the post you were paid to make? It might not have had anything to do with it.

It's very possible that the PR drop was because you have the phrase "Recommended Links" on every page - even though they don't point anywhere. It seems to me that if Google wanted to penalize sites who sell links, the phrase "Recommended Links" on every page of the site would throw up a red flag.

Plus, I'm not a blogger so I don't know if it's effective, but the "Tags" area of your homepage looks an awful lot like keyword stuffing.

Try to sell products, ads, and not links, or put nofollow on links.

If you put links to other websites their ranking in search engines will increase. It is nothing bad if you put a link because you like it, this is the way popularity goes, but you don't care if the website is good or not, you just want to take the money, it is nothing bad for you, but google want to discourage you to do this again.

It is their search engine and they are predominant in this area, not much you can do at present.
