After reading one of Aaron wall's recent posts on spam, I decided to look up barackosama.com's availability. Someone's playing a joke or trying to give google a bad name. Read about it here: http://www.kyleeggleston.com/google/sabotaging-google-politically Interesting. *Plays with beard*
I don't know, I mean... unless Google had a page directly calling him Barack Osama, I hope most people wouldn't assume that. Even if Google DID own the domain and put the redirect there, what would it be saying? It would only be saying, they don't care enough about the Barack Osama idea to even create any content; and/or they didn't want the domain used to slander Obama.
This all started when Ted Kennedy inadvertently referred to Barack as Obama instead of Osama. He later corrected himself but it was spread around the internet like wildfire.
What does this have to do with Google? It seems that someone is pointing the domain to google.com... so what? What am I missing?

Yes, probably ownd by: Sunlane Media PO Box 231789 Encinitas, California 92024 United States Still, I wonder what this has to do with Google?
Are you joking? It has everything to do with Google. I would imagine that Google wouldn't like the fact that BarackOsama.com is being redirected to Google's homepage. It poses a neutrality threat to Google politically... Which could cause some misrepresentation to Google's political standing (especially if Barack wins the election).
No I am not joking. Where is the confusion? Where is the political statement? How does this pose any threat to google? How does a 3rd parties redirect impact google impartiality in any way? It does not. This is called making something out of nothing.
I would argue that your making nothing out of something. Either you don't agree that this has anything to do with google (even though it indisputably does have at least some relevance despite how you take it), or you're simply trying to preserve your ego by trying sound like the smartest of the bunch by playing devil's advocate. Whichever it is, thanks for reading. You think it has nothing to do with Google, point made.
lets say mr x registeres a highly offensive domain name, use your imagination, im not going to try and come up with an idea. and points it at google. So what? Big deal, thats the whole concept of the internet its open and free. Pierce
Google has registered some pretty funny/odd domain names. Here is a list of their 520 "known" domain name registrations. http://www.pronetadvertising.com/articles/googles-growing-list-of-domains.html I chuckled at googlemotherfu**er.com
