Google been through- think ranked as new site because of additional files/themes

    Hi
Just come back from R&R. Meanwhile Google have been through several times and updated files that have been completed for some time. No rankings on several categories. Usually these had 3 or 4 ranking. Site has been listed for 5 years. Also lost home page ranking from 4 to 3 but not my main problem as everyone in same boat. "Contact us" " about us" and "testimonials" all ok and these were spidered twice in march.

Could the loss of any ranking be because I am treated as a new site?. I have several categories with different files/themes under each of them. Under heading, "business", for example, I have a new theme and resources sites. I had been waiting to get a code to stop it from getting listed and hadn't done it before I went away. thought it prudent to do it just in case.
Google had ignored them for several months.

So would Google just look at my main categories and not differentiate between files with high content and my files with lots of affiliate links?

One category that I though would never lose ranking was "Resumes". I can only think that I dropped a service and combined another. Old sites still listed by Google. I will try to get google to remove them. Perhaps this gets me treated as a new site. comments?

I have read a bit this morning re new rules being finally emplemented and people seeing results of these but nothing specific that would relate to my site.

I have stacks of paid work to catch up with (got to eat) so your help will be appreciated. OH. I was going to put adsense on unranked pages but in resumes, for example, I just get competitors. However will this be a short term solution. What do you think I should do? Block "possible offending files" with lots of links from being spidered? Also have I correctly identified the possible problem as to why I have lost rankings?
kind regards, I hope someone can help.
