I just got Google slapped. Not really sure why, but I'm no longer getting any organic google search traffic and have dropped off the planet in terms of search results.
Has anyone else had this happen? Where you able to get back in or was that it?:(

if your site wasn't banned, those fluctuations are normal.
It happened to me twice and it lasted 5-7 days!
So, it should be back in a week or so!

    Hey there,

Honestly, I would not pay too much mind to that PR predictor. It says that for the majority of websites. I think it even said that for yahoo.com last time I tried.

Thats no really good way to tell how many backlinks google has for your site.

    Sincerely,
    Travis Walters

It's weird, I did this search and things show up, but when I do a search for swollen pickles etc I'm no longer there. I've totally disappeared from the results here, that's what makes me think I've been hit with a penalty.

Sudden drastic drops in the SERPs have happened to lots of sites, but in many cases it only lasts a few days and then everything suddenly returns to normal. No one knows what causes it, but I think it's some kind of data glitch.

Anyway, hang on for a few days and see what happens.

P.S. When I did a Google search for swollen pickles, I saw you site at position 72 in the SERPs. If it only dropped that much, there's a good chance that it will come back up in a few days.

Fingers crossed. I removed text-link-ads just in case (it was only one ad anyway).

This is what worries me, the last month in particular has seen a massive drop in search visitors. Here is how I was tracking leading up to today (not massive numbers I know, but they were looking good for me).

Number of visitors sent from Google (Organic):
    15 Sept-15 Oct = 318
    15 Aug -15 Sept = 3,034
    15 Jul -15 Aug = 4,616
    15 Jun -15 Jul = 2,366
    15 May -15 Jun = 1,558
    15 Apr -15 May = 2,866
    15 Mar -15 Apr = 2,945
    15 Feb -15 Mar = 1,547

Well for some of my highest keywords the page was droped out. I will keep watching for my page to get reindexed, but I am a little jumpy

If it keeps happening for more than a few days you might need to worry but sometimes this happens when Google is shuffling things around.

It's called the google dance and it happens. I've had sites not come back from it, but that was a GH site.
Do you have google webmaster tools running on that domain?
    It might give some indicator.

How long has this site been in Google? There's a good chance that it's Google shuffling things around. If you're still waiting after a week it's possible you've been slapped. I searched for your URL and you're still in the index so there's hope yet.

I don't think anything major has happened. Your site will come back.

Thats a big drop in traffic.

I would start doing some research and make sure your content is not copied on other sites. Also check your logs to see if there has been downtime and if the spiders are still coming to your site.

It may just be a data glitch, but its best to check over things.

How do you make sure content isn't being copied elsewhere?

That's almost impossible unless the content is indexed by Google. The best you could do is try pulling phrases from your content and see if it comes back to you and if it shows up somewhere else.

If you want to, you can either post here or PM me the site that you think got slapped and I'll take a look at it for you.
