I am trying to use Google Base to get some sales, To get the product who ever sees my ad needs to be able to go to my site to download it so having a link to my site at the end of the ad is absolutely ripenesses, However when I click on link to create a link and put my web address in the OK, submit or what ever the button is called is grayed out. Nothing shows when I test the link either. What can I do?

I use a data feed for Base, they come in daily and pull a file from my database. You could create an XML file for Base to grab, register the data feed, and then upload it manually. This might be an answer for you, I know that it works for me.

I wanted to set up the, API I think it is called. What kind of file do you use? Currently we use a deliminated (I think tab) excel file (txt file) and upload manually. I would be so much easier to just have them grab it. What format does it need to be in? I am assuming the same format I upload.

They should be able to grab the tab delimited file, when you register your feed, you'll tell them what type of file to look for. Then just schedule the upload, and you should be good to go. I would recommend scheduling the first upload for the closest hour to your current time. So if it's 3:45, schedule for 4:00. This way you can verify rather quickly if there is an issue with the feed.

After you confirm your feed is working properly, you can adjust the time to whenever you see fit, I use the early hours of the morning since I have less traffic then.
