Hey all, I am not really familiar with Googles new(ish?) friend Google Base. Does anyone know the traffic potential, main uses and details of this? Thanks
go to http: //base.google.com/base?hl=en&gl=US Check it out it can host tons of different things, ie reviews or FAQs
If you have an ecommerce site, one of the things that utilizes base is Froogle. Your product feed are uploaded to base. Dave
I created an item on base.google.com. The item was just a page with information about my website and linked it to my website. I checked my stats and could see that i did get some traffic from base.google but nothing major.
Allegedly the data in googlebase will at some point inform the SERPS, but when and to what extent is anyone's guess.
They already show in a search for exceptionally non-competitive terms. http://www.google.com/search?source...=GGLD,GGLD:2005-50,GGLD:en&q="st+roch+medals" Note the last two listings. Dave
Interesting, so they are acting like a kind of supplemental index? Anyone else seen any examples of Googlebase infiltrating the serps?
It's pretty cool, because you can do a bulk upload and all your items will be mapped into their system. But I can't say it increased traffic very much if any.
Google base is good for people who want to promote their services and they may distribute content thru it, its also good for those who haven't their own site and have products to sale, and best part is they can be part of google search results! thats great service
