recently i figured a post abt a pr7 blog which got banned by google for a reason to use TLA and review me! read here: http://labnol.blogspot.com/2007/08/google-bans-pr-7-website-for-selling.html what do u think?
Ouch! That is really bad. Alot of webmasters are going to have huge chunks taken out of their earnings if paid links do this to their site. It will encourage customers to buy Google Ads for that site instead. It's all about Google making more money really.
How about posting a link to the article where the author admits that it wasn't TextLinkAds which was causing the problem? Wouldn't that be more useful than scare mongering? Google Penalization: Text Links, Redirects Not Likely Causes - Spam Comment Links Maybe - The Story Continues
I have always had my doubts about those stories. How does the Google bot know if you have TLA links? And why just TLA? All the links are added server side? There must be something else wrong, there are literally hundreds of directories, services, private 'deals', that would be banned before that blog. FFMG
im having same doubts, if TLA is the case, john chow would be the first victim. buying and selling text links are ages old trends! there is something wrong, i wonder what is that but i hate google.
Even _if_ Google had a problem with TLA and similar services they have no way of knowing what links are from TLA and the ones that are 'real' links. In fact, you can have a page with links and no mention of TLA anywhere on it. His rank could have dropped for many, more plausible, reasons. FFMG
That's a popular blog but only popular in technology and software guides and is not webmaster related i mean that author whom i know is a tech software expert but writes stuffs by collecting from magazines and also provides own reviews tricks tips guides and all...and since it's a famous blog now many people ask him to write about their such problems. Google won't do that b'coz when searching it says sponsored results before search results. Here is a recent post saying how to use TLA and be safe from G http://www.quickonlinetips.com/arch...ake-your-paid-text-links-ads-google-friendly/
I covered this recently on my site (Google FUD Factor) and highlighted a large number of search and marketing blogs which endorse TLA. If Google were to drop them from the index then they would be adversely affecting the quality of the search results. The fact is that Google are protecting their revenue streams. By not publicly defending or attacking services like TLA, they are simply adding to the FUD Factor. They want people to drop TLA like a hot potato and go back to using AdSense.
i like nice and clear explanations. adsense sucks and the fact that google is trying to protect adsense. i really hate shameless greedy google! hope TLA and reviewme exists.
