webalizer stats in my site shows that googlebots is crawling my site frequently. but when i search in google for my domain name, site:domain.com, or by typing in domain.com, there is zero result. and there is no referrer from any google search in my webalizer stats. does it mean even though my site is being crawl... google banned my site? my site does have some duplicate content.
You won't get banned for duplicate content... just not indexed. If anyone has information to the contrary, I'm quite keen to hear. If you could get banned for duplicate content... you could go to competitor forums and post the exact same keyword combination on a mass scale (although some may argue that the responses will "dilute" the % of duplicate content)... or find free hosting providers and make duplicate sites... Hell, international mirror sites would also be banned. In relation to your question - is your site new?
my site is not really new... approx 3-4 months. Stats show that, During March, there are approx 10-30 visitors daily... mostly from other site that link to this site. During April, traffic increase to approx 100 - 150 daily....70% of the traffic from search engine including google. and many of my pages are indexed by google. During May, seems maintaining the same as April. During June, suddenly traffic decrease back to 10 - 50 daily visitors. And no more referrer from google...even though googlebots seems to still visit my site. Then i went to do a site:my-domain.com and my-domain.com at google... zero result. Thats why i am wondering if my site is banned by google. Is there any reliable online tools to check whether my site is banned ? i use the iwebtool.com/google_banned Checking my site using www.[my-domain].com , it said DOES NOT appear to be banned Checking my site using [my-domain].com , it said DOES appear to be banned Any advise ?
