Google backlinks

Well i checked my backlinks and i've got...

total=2,553
google=7
msn=1,877
yahoo=669

Anyone knows why i have 7 on google and i have PR 3? o.o

 

Google's weird that way. I have a PR5 with 4 backlinks.

Just don't worry about it. Create a good site. Get people to link to it. If you must check backlinks, use Yahoo.

 

Google's back link checker does not actually reflect all the known website's that Google has recorded as linking to you.

Maybe their reason for giving wrong reports is to put SEOs off the track when they are trying to "beat the system".

At the end of the day, if Yahoo and MSN know about a backlink then Google will probably know about it too.

The Google page rank of your site is also not related to the back links they have listed.

I've no idea why Google show this, some people say that it is broken, but my guess is that they just don't want people be able to guess how their ranking system works and so to them the less they tell us the better.

Yes, Google only show a selection of your backlinks. This doesn't mean that they dont know of your other links

Use msn and yahoo if you want to check backlinks

 

Google PR doesnt depends on backlinks......on popularity, nature of content, the pages etc. etc.

PR is strictly based on backlinks - content or popularity has no influence on PR.

 

PR is based on backlinks, which are (seen as) a measure of popularity. High-pr-links count heavier, because they are thought of as more popular and therefore more trustworthy.

 

Google thinks itself very wise .. so it tries to hide backlinks.

Yahoo! site explorer is best for checking backlinks.

PR is mostly a measure of link popularity and does not always indicate traffic popularity.

 

I also just started promoting my website - using links, for starters. And I can see the progress on Yahoo and other search engines (number of backlinks is growing every day), whereas it is a different story with Google. Does anyone know how soon it is that Google pick up at least some of the backlinks..?

i was with 4 backlins on google and have PR3 for my website, i was also worrying too much for PR, but then i realise to go for content and attract visitors, don't care about PR, google do what he wants with PR.
Increase your traffic thats the only thing which will give you benefit

 

Googe Does'nt really show The Actual Backlinks of Site...

Because google only show a sample... of backlinks for one website...

You should search for something like


"website.com" -site:website.com (but even this is not quite accurate)
for example I will try this for my website:

http://www.google.com/search?source...GL:en&q="softgroups.com"+-site:softgroups.com


As I mentioned, not a accuarate... but you may use it, especially when you intend to measure a website popularity

 

As everyone had already mentioned, don't focus on the number of backlinks in Google because that number is highly wrong compared to the real number backlinks you may have pointing to your site. But rather keep track of all the keywords you are targeting and see if they are moving up or down (as a result of what you are doing to bring them to the top search results).

 

Is it that google only lists links from good quality sites?
I mean the "sample" are just random links or they are the ones that google counts?

 

google has different algorithm from other search engine it does not show all of your backlink.

 

google likes uniqe content site. dont worry google knows your other backlinks and your contents.
