Google backlinks drop BIGTIME

I used McDar's tool over here http://www.mcdar.net/q-check/datatool.asp. It's a pretty good tool, it shows all of the DCs, or at least the one's they know about, so I can see that several of them are already reporting 50, some still reporting 1, and one has gone to 0, but that happens all the time.

 

Yep, I got pawned today by G. Oh well, what are ya gonna do? If things go as they were, the links will be back in a few weeks. Or maybe there's more to it. My adsense and vistiors have dropped significantly in the last two days.. Things that make you hmmmm...

 

I'll say. I just took a look and a lot of the DCs that had me up to 50 BLs are now back to listing just one. Man, that sucks! I don't know what to think. Has G gone bipolar?

 

Yeh I forgot about that tool! I went up by 50 BL's, no change on the serps though.

 

I actually saw an increase in BL this update!!

 

Not me, I dropped from 193 to 161.

 

Google dropped a few of my backlinks yesterday, but today I had a big increase.
My site is still not in the serps for any of my keywords, looks like I will be stuck in the sandbox for a while.

 

Not good for me. BL's went from 855 to 302. At a high was 2320 shown. Also lost about 700 BL's from MSN over the past week. Bad part is Google dropped almost all of my pages from teh index. Down to only 63 pages on most data centers. :-( MSN shows 578 pages and Yahoo shows 259 pages. Think it's time to drop back and punt.

Google shows I have 84 BLs while MSN shows I have 710. Does MSN show all the backlinks to your sites?

 

all but one of my sites have lost backlinks - this is despite my coop weight increasing considerably since the last update. I have lost way more then Ive gained. Which makes no sense if the coop is working properly

 

Is it just me, or do you guys actually care what Google is displaying as backlinks...

It doesn't mean jack shit...

 

well, I have noticed my KWs only making small gains or losses for the last month - Thats why I care. And I wonder about if the coop is working as well as it did before.

On the upside google has 4 times as many pages cached in the api now -- 12,000

 

But it doesn't mean anything...
They show you want they want to show you...

Joey, Google does it on purpose. They want to confuse those who are trying to figgure them out too much.

I only care about SERP's... the thing that makes the difference in visitors.

I agree...Google BK's don't mean didley squat. But when combined with going from over 2300 BL's to 302 AND you go from 400 indexed pages to 63 and drop completely out of the SERPS and can't even come up for you site name, like I have, then you got problems. FWIW....I've also lost over 800 BL's in MSN the last week. That scares me a bit but I'm sure it's from lost weight in the Coop due to drop in indexed pages in Google.

 

As said before by many, the BL update don't mean squat. In the past the assumption was that only higher quality BL's would show up that had PR4 or higher. Now it is a mix and match. The link: command might as well be non existing for all I care.
