Google Backlink update in progress ...

There seems to be a Google Backlink update in progress; I am seeing changes on some datacenters for some of my sites.

Could a Toolbar PR update be far behind? This weekend perhaps?

I am just seeing preupdate backlink counts on some datacenters using http://www.mcdar.net/q-check/datatool.asp

 

using mcdar i am just seeing the same variations as i have done since the thread on the 28th march about a possible update.

 

I have seen something strange aswell, I set the google alerts up to my domain, i.e link:www.mydomain.com and the last few days I have had aboout 30 emails saying there are more backlinks. Anyone else seeing this?

64.233.183.104 is the only one so far, but im seeing that update.

only thing that has changed for me is im seeing 3 diff amount of indexed pages in google.

maybe cos my site is yet to have any pr ill be at the bottom of the update?

 

This DC is showing BLs of the second last BL update for all of my sites.

 

Mine too. It's been like that for a few days, but for a while there yesterday several DCs had me back at that number. Now it's back to just that one. Google is a strange animal. I usually don't pay close attention to the numbers except the first few days of the month as that's when it looks like the updates have been happening lately. Of course now that they've established a pattern over the past few months I'm sure they'll probably change it up. The rest of the time I only check it occasionally. The past month there were only two instances where all the DCs actually had the correct BL numbers, the day after the update, and about a week ago. Since I started the site in question last Dec. I got 1 BL in the Jan update, 50 in Feb., and 84 in March. Until I see something other than those three numbers represented, and they all are represented, I'm not getting excited about anything.

 

My back G stats have been all over the place the last week, I figured something was up.

 

using uptime bot i see zero for backlinks, so something us up.

 

Yippee! Lots of posts soon about how crap/wonderful Google is. I wonder if this one is a biggie or just a minor murmur ...

 

I'm seeing three different numbers for IBLs across the datacentres - none of them are new figures though

I'm seeing a higher BL count on 10 of the 34 DCs using McDars tool.

Oddly, it's the same exact number of BLs that I had before the New Year's eve update.

I haven't looked at the make-up of those BLs yet.

BLs, and pagecounts for that matter, have been more fubar than normal the past several days. Until I start seeing some numbers that are actually NEW, I'm not going to get too excited.

Yep, seems my backlinks and page counts have been all over the board, with a lot of very old numbers coming up at times.

 

It's about to happen soon. IT may be tomorrow, or just in a week.

Anyway, Google is defing us all.

With all our previous experience, and calculations, the update should have happend 5 april tops.

 

No. Attempting to predict what Google will do or when Google will do it is a waste of time, no matter how many tables, spreadsheets, timelines, or crystal balls you consult.
