google back links have changed

well I just noticed back links for my client site in google web master tool have increased to 40 but PR is not yet changed. so Is it true that google yet havenot updated PR?

40 is not good enough to get pr1

 

I think you might need a bit more than 40
I'm not that concerned about my site's PR anymore, as long as google is getting me traffic, I'm good

I disagree. 40 links might be a good start, what's important that some of the 40 pages that link to you have a good reputation in google, that's to say they have a good PR.
For example, to get PR3 you need 18.5 links from PR3 websites or 3.5 links from PR4 websites. In your case, if all 40 links come from pages that have PR0, you can wait forever to get PR1! Have pacience and wait for google to update the PRs. Remember, it's more important to optimize your web site and give it good, unique content than focusing only on PR!

 

the power of baclinking sites also matters . useless sites with no or less pr dont give you good pr .... no matter how mnay backlinks

 

I've back links from good web sites and since my sites is an online articles directory content is being posted by Authors and I manually edit the submission.

 

Yeap, we are still waiting for PR update.

 

i think google stop updating PR for few months and also dont care about PR anymore , just get traffic from Google, that is better and make me happy.

 

You still need to continue building links for the site to get a good PR in the update, if any.

 

backlinks change there every couple days, ours at 165k

 

the better question would be, have those links helped your client's website rise in the serps, not about the page rank. almost every link would add a minute amount of page rank to the page it links to and the formula is beyond my comprehension but it would be a interest to see if those links made a difference in any of the serps and thus if you are getting more traffic/conversion for important keywords that are being targeted.

You have keep commenting on blogs and forums frequently. The number of backlinks you have for your site is very less and cannot get you any PR higher than zero.

Google pagerank and number of backlinks are not correlate for quite a while. You may see many websites got high pagerank even 4-6 with a few backlinks while many got a very low pagerank even they have a hundred of backlinks in Google.

If your customer are targeting high pagerank instead of high ranking then I have nothing to say. You can have high pagerank by acquired any high pagerank backlinks whether it is relevant or not.
