I heard that if a website url gets a large amount of back links to fast google will put them in the sand box or banned them is this corrsct?

My question is it a bad thing if you have over 1000 post in a forum to put your new website url in your Sig?

Well, I recently launched a new site and all the backlinks did for me (from my coop weight) was get my site indexed very fast. Of course this could depend on the content and seo of the site I suppose.

The forum sig is great for getting indexed fast. But does each post count as a back link or would it count as 1 back link from forum url?

You will not be banned for fast linking but can lose some serps and some links may be not valued as it should be. you will get banned only if you link to a bad neighbourhood.

Otherwise to penalize competitor sites, everyone will collect thousands of links to the competitor sites ;)

Large amount of backlinks in short times may not get your site banned but may cause dilute your site in serps. Google pay attention for new sites that get a ton of links from link farms or excessive cross linked between own sites. Google weights on organic links to new sites so that might not be a short time for do that.

for your question, I'm not sure about se bots if that follow forums sig in bb code but I'm sure that google has no weights on forum sigs or give a very very little. Spammy in sigs url is not a good idea.;)
