If you want to have your picture in Google search results for threads you created, you can do so by linking to your Google+ account on this page (scroll down towards the bottom): https://forums.digitalpoint.com/account/third-party-accounts
I've seen a lot of people link up their Google+ account, but they don't do the part they need to do on their Google+ account and set the "contributor" thing on their Google+ account. You can test if your account is linked (if you want), but putting in the URL for a thread you started on the structured data testing tool. If it says "Verified" in green, you know it's done properly. For example, this thread: http://www.google.com/webmasters/to....com/threads/google-authorship.2628281/&html=
To see how this thread look in Google search results (due to using this feature): https://encrypted.google.com/search?q=digitalpoint+authorship

More details on how to set your Google+ contributor links can be found in the Google+ section over here: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/account/third-party-accounts An example of how marketplace items will look in Google search results with the authorship enabled:
A minor addition to the authorship stuff within the digital goods marketplace. It shows pricing right in Google search results now too.
Is this authorship feature still working? I thought Google had knocked the authorship on the head for forums. There was this discussion in July at AdminZone: http://www.theadminzone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103406
