Well we have all seen the links underneath sites when you do a search. This was termed an authority site. Also there has been many of discussions if it is done manually or automatically. Well I can now say its done automatically without any doubt. Do a search for my name "aaron nimocks" on Google.
Yes it's auto, but you can go into webmaster tools / links / sitelinks / and then click the block option for any of the chosen sitelinks Google picked up. That's pretty funny what they picked up for you lol.
This does not mean it is an authority site. That is something completely different. This just means that Google suspects that the search phrase is your website's company name.
You can also go to the same page and read where it says these are determined through an automated process.
One of my sites has those. Maybe because I am #1 on Google for that niche and have loads of good content.
yes the status given is automatic.. but I think sitelinks can be controlled in the google webmaster..
How i miss my authority sites... all gone last update. So i'd say to put them up - automatic, to take them down - manual.
Every body is happy when he/she gets but the real question is how to get it As far as manual or automatic is concerned, its surely automatic
I assume it's automatic, although I actually lost one. My first blog was offline for about 5 months and when it came back it was gone. My new site got the links below and it's about 6 months old
Automatic for sure. One of the sitelinks that I have got is to a page that doesn't even exit now. (something like this :http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2124659). The only reason that it got a sitelink is that long time back I had built a lot of links to that page. I later removed the page.
