i've noticed for the last several days i've been ranking #1 for a particular term on google.au - but i'm ranked at #46 on Google.com for that same term. why would the two be so different? is google.au giving me a preview of things to come at google.com
I personally have a theory that google.com.au is hosted at an IP which uses the supplemental results.
is that a good thing or a bad thing? i noticed that at a few other google's such as canada and UK, i'm also ranking #1, or higher than at google.com
I think any free traffic from google is a good thing. I have noticed that some of my new content will show up on .com.au serps a few days after posting, but may take upto a month to show up in .com. That's for some sites where as other sites it will show up everywhere after a few days.
Have you got a com.au site? Is your site linked by com.au sites? Have you got an australian web site? Google knows things like this and of course your rank will be better in australians search engines If you want a better analysis you have to post your website url and the serp in which you are ranked #46
