I regularly use FireFox but opening the gmail is still a problem for me. Sometimes I open it in basic mode.

I have never had an issue with gmail loading slowly...

Those who have to opt for basic loading, there must be some problem with your internet speed.

I have used IE, FF, Opera, Safari & later Chrome also.. now I have settled down with FireFox, as it is the best & with plugins it becomes my own created browser like I need..

Internet Speed is the main factor. In reality the speeds aren't noticeable. The only people that notice are those high tech geeks that benchmark everything. Sure gmail may load 30% faster or whatever but if it's only 500 milliseconds, who really cares.

Firefox always upload faster than IE , so their is no issue to say these things again and again . I am using FF from last 3 years and only saw change in speed when i updated my internet speed plan .

I wonder if using Apple's Safari browser makes a difference.

firefox definitley opens faster then IE but chrome does unsurprisingly take the cake on this one.
