Google Apps has come out of the beta stage. They have now two plans announced - A free (ad supported) standard edition and a $50 / user / year (ad optional) Premium edition. The free edition has a storage space of 2GB, while the premium edition provides a whopping 10 GB. Both editions now support Docs & Spreadsheets in addition to the existing applications (Gmail, GTalk, Google Calendar & Page Creator). There is a free trial period for the Premium edition until April 30th, 2007. But unfortunately, you need a credit card to register for the trial period.
ohh nice...maybe now I can get more email addresses for our website...we use their enterprise mail solution. thanks
I would like to hear your experiences on this too. I want to use company emails through google because i want to use their spam protection. Is it possible to use this service for email and still get emails via pop3?
Sure. You can access your email using the same settings you use for Gmail. I switched to Google Apps just 2 before they announced the above plan. Its really cool. The ability to chat with GTalk is the best feature of this. Also you can use Google Spreadsheet and Doc. But all features available in Gmail are not available here. For example, Gmail provides about 2.8 GB space while Google Apps provide 2GB. You cannot chat using Opera, while I can with Gmail. Also the latest feature of Google, the ability to access other mail accounts directly from Gmail is also not available. But still I will give it a 9 out of 10.
I signed up for that about 6 months ago. But they needed some improvement that time. SO, I dont use that much. Will give a try again soon!
