    ....I had adhearus ads already in place. Am I supposed to take them down now? Or does google REALLY care?

    i both use adhearus and adsense on the same page. Adhearus is not contextual ads like adsense so it cannot be considered as competitive ads. But be sure to configure your adhearus to display only images.
