Hello Guys, I want your input on what you think are the safest ways to get links. Ones that Google won't get annoyed by. These are the ones I think that Google would be OK with: 1) Authority Directories in the Relavant Section (Yahoo, DMOZ, Business.com etc) 2) Article Submissions and the links you get from those. 3) Links from Forum Signatures related to your Site but not Spamming them 4) Reciprocal Links from related sites. 5) Pess Releases What do you guys think ? Other methods that could be risky: 1) Buying links 2) Blog Comments with your keywords as the NickName 3) Mass submissions to 1000's of low quality directories 4) Buying Ads on related site that might not be using "NoFollow" tag. Even though the intention is just to advertise, Google might penalize right !! What are you thoughts on this guys, Please give your input. Also, Do Back Links from Forum Sigs really help much, from related forums that is. What other safe ways are there for getting back links.
Link building has many procedures. You either do directory submissions or forum/article postings to get the link for your signature, you try social book marking or link exchanges. With the last update for PR and backlinks that Google made in February it has made it clear that any link pages containing the term "link" or any alpha numeric characters such as 1.html in their url will not be crawled or cached. So for analysts,web-masters who are looking to have their backlinks increased through reciprocal links better don't upload your page/pages as links.html solely for the reason Google will not crawl it. Rather something like partner or resource will be better.
i think, you can also add this too............... by writing a interesting about a site and contacting the blog owner to make that review come on their website with a link. This is reallly going to make a difference.
In case of buying links,I would suggest you to do with high PR sites related to your theme.Otherwise chances of google penalization are very high.
4) Reciprocal Links from related sites. This might still be considered a "link building scheme". Be careful how much you do this. Here's Google's Official Blog post Here's Google's Matt Cutts post on link building Here's another Google page relating to reciprocal links - Link schemes
So the methods that are safe for link building carry less weight. For example, links from articles, forum signatures, and Directories usually have no PR. Plus they are easy to get so Google might give them less weight. The methods that carry more weight/value are risky. Links from high PR pages will usually have to be paid for unless you get lucky. So what are you supposed to do ! ! !
Infact Google has suggested a list of directories directly form it's database. It is charging a sum of $10,000 yearly for a paid subscription. It is wise to have link from these directories. Here is the list.
WRITE AN INTERESTING SITE IMO the statement above is where it is all at, if you want links, give people something to link too, I know that if I find a really cool site, I will add them to mine. People go on and on about content, but seem to forget it's quality content that will get you noticed. Also you have to match content and design, no use making excellent points if your site looks like a thrown together mistake. Just seems to me in the rush to get PR people are forgetting about making something good! I am no expert, but for example in my directory, I am not looking to get 20,000 listings...I am looking to get a directory full of great quality listings, if this takes 10 years then so be it!
Links from related sites are allowed. Buying links is forbidden. So what if you're buying links from related sites?
As Google say, you cannot buy link of related or unrelated sites, if you are going to buy or sell links it must to be with the nofolllow tag..
it's a matter of semantics, but it's not under the 'nofollow' tag. There are several methods which are OK. The methods which are not OK, pass PR. So... Link tag: rel="nofollow" Meta tag: meta name = "robots" content="nofollow" Java script, flash, or any other method which would cause the google bot to not pass the PR along with the link. even manually tagging on certain levels is OK, or was, or is better, or something.... but in the end, it's about selling links for traffic rather then PR. If you sell links for the PR value, then you are doing it wrong.
A friend who has a strong Google contact has informed me this couldn't be further from the truth. If this is not an April fools thing (which would be a good one) can you please provide documentation. Thanks
