How long does google take to approve campaigns?

I submitted about 500 keywords Friday and it's saturday with 0 impressions.

    Please advise!

Could be your bid price. Maybe you know it or not, but picking keywords and a bid price is no longer enough. Now, you have to score a QS (Quality Score) based on your keywords, ads, and landing page.

If your QS is low, your bid has to be high, much higher.

Mine QS is 5/10 and all of my keywords have to be minimum of .04 to be qualified to be on the first page based on the qs.

My Max cpc is .10 so that is not the problem.

Your ads are allowed on and you'll only get a disapproval notice if there is an issue.
If you place you cursor on the quality score button it will tell you if there is an issue preventing your add going to air.

Did you write your ad text according to Adwords rules? Did you use your company trademark in CAPITAL? Or are you asking for only keywords approval?

Keywords approval take time actually. Maybe a week or more or less.
Ad text approval take a few hours if only you are a Qualified Adwords Customer.

Drop a mail to adwords support... and boom you should see the disapproved ads in your account.... or you will see the keywords as inactive due to low bid...

Is that a blatant tout for business? As a professional you must know there is little or no truth in your statements, at least in my non-qualified, non-professional experience.

As Michaelr says, generally your campaign will go live immediately and you will get notified in your account if there are any disapproved ads. In my experience that can be up to 24 hours later. Also, on a new campaign all words seem to start with QS5 and low minimum 1st page bid until it has run a while and Google can check the relevancy of your keywords and settle the positioning of your ads. The 1st page bid can be extremely misleading anyway and I would not pay too much attention to it - better to go on the actual results in deciding your bid. The only time it seems to be critical is if you have a low QS keyword that Google consider irrelevant. Then, your ad will likely not get shown unless you bid the minimum.

Having said all that, the fact you are getting no impressions at all suggests you or Google has a problem. Assuming you do not have major relevancy issues and your ads and landing page are okay, you could try raising your max CPC and see if that triggers the campaign. Then, once it is running you can adjust your bids as necessary. Otherwise, if still no action, I imagine your best course is to follow #6's advice above.

I guess what myarro says is correct. But landing page optimization is very important.

Your campaign goes live immediately after setting everything up and paying the activation fee. It is during the next several days that they review the campaigns and determine if they are following their guidelines.
