How do I find out what my Google Api is? I registered for a Google account but now what.

Btw, I apologize for complete lack of knowledge.

They should email you an API key if you got an account at the URL the KW tracker gives. If you haven't gotten one, use the URL and they will resend it to you.

What do you mean "use the URL"? Put it in the box where you ask for the api? I didn't get an additional email so....

Thank you for helping me with this.

On the box you put it in, there should be a link right under it you can click of where you can get an API key.

I did that already and received an email where I verify my email address. So I am signed up for a Google account but don't know how to get my api.

To be honest I don't know what I am doing as far as google api is concerned so I am so sorry for all the questions.

Did you go through the link given on the page where you are asked to enter your API key?

hey Nooks ;) (AzAkers from MonsterCommerce)

To get the API you need to sign up here:
    http://www.google.com/apis/

If you have signed up already then you should recieve an email with the API in it:
    API = a unique series of numbers/letters - like a personal key

Where are you using the API..?

If you are trying to get the keyword tracker operational then you copy/paste the API into the API field in the 'Edit preferences' area once you have signed into the keyword tracker.

Using it somewhere else..? Let us know - maybe someone can help get you on track.

[good to see you here by the way - you'll love this forum - Shawn is a certifiable genius, and these other guys aren't bad either ;)]

Hi Jayson! Good to see a familiar face, or name..:)

Okay here is exactly what I have done. I clicked the link that is below the box where you enter your api during the Keyword tracker sign up. I registered on that Google page. Then I received an email from Google wanting me to verify my email address was valid. I clicked the link in the email from Google and it said thank you for validating your email. That's it. Now what?

hmmm - I see what might be the problem

I just went through the process again to check the steps so I could relay the properly - after you click the email link that confirms your email address you should come to a window that verifies your address and has a link "Click here to continue >>"

That link should take you to the next step in the process but instead tells me "Servers are busy - sorry for the inconvieniance"

Keep trying, maybe the servers are experiencing an overly large work load rioght now, or maybe they are doing maintenance..?

    Or maybe I'm missing something

I got my API within minutes after applying last year. They may be taking more time these days. If you do not hear in a day I would write them about the problem.

Is it bad to apply more than once?

Not sure if they will toss you out for that or what...but if you wasted MY time like that I would poke you with a sharp stick!!

    hah - j/k

I actually went through the process twice when I first got mine - no Google hate mail - I got my API - so its probably not a problem - although I don't think it will help at all.

after you confirm the email addy - you have to 'create the API' which is in the 'Click here to continue >>' link - likely the server was busy when you tried before - it was busy for me

    Keep checking that confirmation/log-in page:

Well I got logged in and it didn't take me to where I could create my key. It took me to an account summary page. It has "Edit Personal Information" "Try New Services" etc...but nothing about api.

lol I think I am going to give up.
