It's not the script or you. No PR checker script works 100% of the time. It depends on what's going on at Google's datacenters when you make the request.

I'd also offer a word of caution to anybody using this script, don't abuse it and don't put it up for the public to use. If all possible, don't run it on the server (or IP) where your site(s) is/are hosted. I don't think Google likes people using this script. I noticed the site it came from (magicbeans) is now a PR0 and it used to be a PR7 two years ago. I ran the script on one of my dedicated server on one IP that was bound to a PR4 directory that I've had since 2004 with 32K sites in it and my directory got demoted to PR1 even though it still shows 30K+ backlinks in Google Webmaster tools.

    be careful with it.

Bryce, That script is a google hack. It isn't apart of the google API. Google does not want anyone to be able to show the google pagerank on other sites. That is why they do not have a gdata routine for pagerank. Those sites that use the tool a lot will get there IP blocked by google, because they think it is a bot / malware attack. So, yes, be careful on it's usage.

I've recently become aware of a way to get PR via javascript. There's a Firefox plugin called "GreaseMonkey" and there's a GreaseMonkey script called GWT External Links++! that let's you see PR of sites linking to you in your sites in Google webmaster's tools.

It's by Joost de Valk and you can check it out here...

    http://www.joostdevalk.nl/google-webmaster-tools-on-steroids/

It uses the same principles as the PHP script to generate the checksum and query toolbarqueries.google.com with the proper information. I haven't disected it yet but it really works and if you're adept in Javascript you could easily figure out how to use this.

With many request per day, google may block the ip of the website, these scripts are used by directories.

I used a script in an old directory and then it dosn't work, GG change the algorithm regularly.

    Regards.
